Beautiful Ortley Beach
When you think of summer fun, what comes to mind?
Ortley Beach
- Playing mini golf or arcade games with the kids at Barnacle Bill’s
- Catching and eating fresh crabs, clams or flounder—or buying them at Ortley Seafood?
- Playing a friendly game of pickleball with a group of friends?
- Lounging at the beach with a good book?
- Enjoying sushi at Wasabi or a Chinese feast at Golden Gate Express?
Ortley Beach offers all of that and more! And, it’s a bike ride or a short drive to Lavallette, Seaside Heights, or Seaside Park.
Lavallette
Lavallette is the consummate shore town with a bustling downtown and an equally popular ocean beach and bayfront. The town offers playgrounds, fishing docks, and pickleball, tennis, bocce, shuffleboard, and basketball courts. Concerts and movies are held at the Centennial Gazebo. The town’s retail corridor includes upscale restaurants, casual dining, pizzerias, delis, high-end department stores, and specialty and gift shops – something for everyone.
Seaside Heights
When you think of the Jersey Shore – amusement rides, games of chance, arcades, pizza, sausage sandwiches, orange twist ice cream cones—Seaside Heights is the place that comes to mind. With two miles of boardwalk, the town offers a multitude of restaurants, bars, pizzerias, raw bars, candy shops, arcades, skeeball machines, kiddie rides, thrill rides—and everything in between.
Seaside Park
Seaside Heights’ quieter neighbor, Seaside Park boasts two miles of quiet, sandy beaches anchored by The Sawmill Pizza Café to the north and Bum Rogers Crabhouse to the south. On the bayside, you’ll find several parks, fishing piers, a yacht club and plenty of room for family bike rides. The center of town is home to several restaurants, ice cream shops, department stores, sundries stores, bakeries and delis. Island Beach State Park, located in South Seaside Park, is a large nature preserve with miles of pristine beaches and no houses in sight. Bathrooms, a nature center, Red Fox Beach Bar and Grill, concessions and a sundries store are also onsite.
Take a short drive north, and you can spend the day in Point Pleasant or Point Pleasant Beach, a pair of beautiful seaside communities with much to offer. In addition to the beach, boardwalk and nightlife, Arnold Avenue is a quaint downtown spot that’s pure Americana, with shops, restaurants, bars, shopping, museums, galleries and more.
